Although Nexteq’s H1 revenues were just shy of the all- time H1 high set in FY18, back in September CEO Jon Jayal had been a bit cautious on his outlook as some customers had become more reluctant to commit to buying his gaming components (monitors, computer platforms, the interface to play and the cabinet) due to the high cost of capital. But it looks like the situation has quickly reversed and ahead of full year results on 13 March, Nexteq said it now expects that whilst sales will be 4% down at US$114.8m, gross margins have continued to strengthen (helped by the higher margin broadcast range at its Densitron subsidiary) and profit will be ahead of expectations (Finncap forecasts US$14m pretax profit and eps of 15.9 cents).
