Made’s recovery continues and notwithstanding H1 sales, which were down from £20.6m to £19.1m, adjusted EBITDA improved threefold from £0.5m to £1.4m, for a margin of 7% up from 2%. Made said this is all in line with management expectations helped by an increase in billable utilisation, a reduction of contractor numbers and targeted headcount reductions. The market for new wins "remains subdued” but the contracted backlog of £61.3m, whilst down slightly from the record of £67.9m six months earlier, is well up on £47.8m a year ago. Three big contracts worth £10.7m (Department for Business and Trade, Government Digital Service and Ministry of Justice) were won in H1.
