It seems a lifetime ago now since I got on the train and visited FDEV in Cambridge (making the shares a main write up in May 2019 at 1020p). FDEV's trading update guided sales of around £37m in H1 21 (ending Nov), a 16% increase. The strong performance was driven by the console launch of Planet Coaster (Nov 10th) and the Switch release of Jurassic World Evolution (Nov 3rd), as well as continued traction across its other two titles, Elite Dangerous and z. Meanwhile, sales of all four franchises were stronger than expected in the Christmas season, partly due to the tightening of COVID lockdown restrictions but also demonstrating the lasting popularity of FDEV's titles.
