JD Sports Fashion - Forecast £100m higher than projected 18 months ago

When I suggested topslicing the shares last month after their massive bull run it was mainly based on the fact that JD faces some tough comparatives to beat given that in each of the past two years it has seen like-for-like sales growth in excess of 10%. An exceptional performance has been mostly down to the buoyant market for footwear, such as Adidas Originals. But astonishingly JD’s bull run has continued with like-for-likes again up 10%+. Things clearly seem to be working in its favour with Adidas continuing to give exclusive trainers to a top end sports fashion premium brand like JD rather than the pile-it-high-sell-it-cheap Sports Direct.It said it now expects headline pretax profit before exceptional items to exceed consensus ...
