Acal has acquired Contour for an initial £17m (debt-free basis) of which £14m is funded from the debt with £3m in new shares. Contour designs and makes custom cabling assemblies and connectors for use in industrial and medical applications. Engineering and low volume production is in Hampshire with higher volume production undertaken through partners in Asia. The business has grown strongly on the back of a broadening customer base, but as part of Acal the much wider customer base ought to support further strong growth.In the year to end June it had a profit of £1.8m on sales of £10.7m, a healthy 16.8% operating margin, which will push up Acal’s average 5.4% margin.Eps forecast ...
