Quindell was first quoted on the stockmarket in May last year when Mission Capital, a cash shell, acquired a private business that had been built up by Rob Terry since 2004 to provide an innovative “brand extension” IT service (a mix of consulting, proprietary software and outsourcing) to large corporations. At that time, Quindell raised no new money and the cash shell had barely £370,000 but the reverse gave Terry's business a relatively fast route to market. But then Quindell was an unusual business in that it had already been nicely profitable for the previous three years. Terry is also a man in a hurry.
