JD Sports - Analysts see scope for eps rise to 150p next year

Last month we made sports retailer and brand owner JD Sports (JD.; 723p) one of our top selections for the year ahead. The key “prop” to this recommendation was the fact that 2012 will see the business benefit from the Olympics and also the European Football championships. But much more importantly, JD’s investment appeal has been enhanced by a formidable coup of buying the business and assets of Blacks Leisure from its administrators, stealing it from under the nose of arch rival Sports Direct (SPD; 235p). Back in 2010, Sports Direct, which held a 22% stake in Blacks had offered 62p for the business, which would have valued it at £39m.
