Following on from the November upgrade to profits, French Connection has this month posted another update, which said trading remains ahead of expectations. In the light of this, a note from broker Numis headlined, â€œFill your bootsâ€ has lifted its pretax profit forecast for the year ended February from Â£5.3m to Â£6.8m (eps 4.9p).The strong trading momentum is being led by a strong performance from the licensing and wholesale sides, whilst trading in UK retail remains soft as expected (although menswear has suddenly sparked to life).For the year starting 1 March the forecast rises from Â£7.5m to Â£8.2m pretax profit (eps 5.9p) but our suspicion is that this is just the start of many upgrades. ...
