Ideal Shopping Direct - trading ahead of expectations

Hot on the heels of last month's bullish trading update, Ideal Shopping confirmed December was a record sales period.Having experienced flat sales at the H1 stage, the full year turnout is year-on-year sales growth of 9.2% - so the logical deduction is that sales in H2 09 were running up 18.5% over H2 08. Ideal said this was driven by a number of initiatives covering customer contact, logistics and better product selection. Another totally unconnected reason is, of course, that satellite TV provider BSkyB has also seen explosive growth in viewers as more customers have opted for home entertainment in the economic downturn.
