Shares in Carluccio's (CARL; 58p) have seen a massive de-rating during the past 12 months. Although results for the year to 30 September exceeded expectations, rising costs and the challenging consumer environment has meant that this year brokers are forecasting £5m pretax against the £5.6m it reported last year. The market response has been a heavy sell off and the company, which traded on a PE in the mid-30s, now trades on a prospective PE of 10 based on the current year forecasts of eps of 5.7p.But Carluccio's still has an excellent formula for its deli-restaurant chain.
