Pawnbroker H&T has issued a strong trading update with resultsslightly ahead of market expectations, despite the costs of storeexpansion. The group opened four new stores and acquired six stores inH2 on top of the two opened in H1, taking its estate to 89 at the endof December. Whilst growth in jewellery retailing slowed (like-for-likeDecember retail sales were +3.6% versus +12.9% for H1), the grossmargin for December was maintained. In light of the trading update,broker Numis has upgraded its FY07 eps estimates from 13.7p to 14.8p.This year's target is being maintained at 15.2p. The broker has a 250ptarget.
