Flying Brands, the Jersey-based home shopping group, has reporteddisappointing trading since October and results will be slightly belowexpectations. Specifically, the core Flying Flowers business had adiscouraging Christmas, never having fully recovered from the postalstrikes and experiencing disappointing response rates. There was goodtrading from the other mail order brands and positive growth on theinternet side (up 13%) but this was not enough to offset the negativeresults of Flying Flowers' performance.The company said that given challenging market circumstances it hasabandoned a significant acquisition which will result in a write off onthe professional fees incurred in due diligence amounting to Â£0.75magainst 2007 profits. ...
