NSB has issued a pre-close statement reporting that operating profits for the year to 31 December will come in short of expectations, although its expectations for the current year remain unchanged. Adjusted operating profit will be slightly ahead of the previous year's US$18.1m but lower than forecasts of around US$21.4m mainly due to several licence deals slipping outside of 2006. In addition, profit would have been US$2.5m higher but for adverse currency movements. Year end cash balances were US$33m driven by strong upfront licence payments.
