Character Group - Sales up 35% in first four months

We have known chairman Richard King and finance director Kiran Shah, the duo behind Character, for almost a decade. The last time we did a feature on the shares was in the November ‘06 issue at 75p. Since then the company has reported its 2006 results and also announced (again) that it expects to exceed broker forecasts. The shares have finally started a dramatic ascent as investors have begun to perceive the scale of the transformation that the two have brought about at the group by returning its focus to the distribution of toys in the UK on behalf of manufacturers who do not have their own distribution channels.
