Parkwood - Wins Bexley PPP contract

The shares soared over the month ahead of Parkwood announcing that Boxwood Leisure, a vehicle with which it was bidding jointly with partners, was preferred bidder for a leisure PPP contract for the London Borough of Bexley. Obviously, eagle eyed investors had spotted the announcement on the local authority website days before Parkwood made its official one. Boxwood aims to roll out theleisure centre over the next three years at a total cost of Â£25m, withfunding provided by Barclays' PFI unit. Parkwood will operate thecentres for the following 30 years, with expected annual revenues ofÂ£5m being passed to it.
