Despite Tracsis’ woes, it is not all bad news for others in the Rail sector - especially anyone focused on essential infrastructure maintenance rather than capital works - as shown by Renew’s record 2024 results. It also made three acquisitions that propel it into other high-growth sectors like renewable energy. With its Specialist Buildings division sold shortly after the year’s close, Renew is now 100%-focused on engineering services. Sales on a continuing basis were up 19% to £1.057 billion, underpinned by 16.6% organic growth. Pretax profit climbed 13% to £69.9m and eps by 6% to 65.9p. New records all round.
