Auction Technologies Group - Becoming a multi stage rocket

ATG is becoming a multi stage rocket. Full year results saw Total Hammer Value of goods listed climb by 31% to £6.1bn and £2.2bn of these were knocked down to buyers on ATG-owned platforms, lifting its online share to 35% (+2%). This gave rise to a 34% increase in sales to £70.1m - and ATG’s “take rate” (the money it keeps for itself) was 3.1%. Pretax profit was £22.3m, up from £7m, for eps of 16.4p.As chief executive John-Paul Savant notes, the pandemic resulted in 8-9x the usual number of bidder sessions in a year across his six auction platforms and the volumes have stuck at elevated levels.
