First half results were superb with Summer 2018 particularly strong for Dart’s Leisure Travel business. Pretax profit increased by 68% to £339m for eps of 186.2p (up from 119p). Within that, Leisure Travel revenue grew 38% to £2.2bn and operating profit grew 69% to £347.8m, an operating profit margin of 16% (2017: 13%). The distribution arm reported a slightly lower profit of £2.3m on sales of £89m.Leisure travel volumes jumped by 25% to 8.93m passengers and the load factor rose 1.2ppts to 94.4% despite 24% growth in seat capacity.
