A large acquisition that chief executive John McArthur had been working on was aborted but even despite the absence of a deal, results for the year to 31 July seem sound. Sales were up 14% to £25.4m with adjusted pretax profit up 16% to £5.8m and eps up 18% to 18.3p. Speaking to McArthur he is confident such a whale can be landed before too long and that the company will hit its £50-70m sales and £10-£15m profit target by 2019. The company remains well funded with cash rising from £8.9m to £13.3m (and post the year end, it has also made two small bolt-ons reducing initial cash by £2m).
