Conviviality has issued an H1 trading update. Sales are likely to be flat year-on-year at £183m, which is down 1.7% on a same stores basis due to inclement weather conditions and some softening in the consumer sector recently. However, this has been offset by improving franchise profitability. In addition, Conviviality has commenced switching Wine Rack stores from corporate to franchise with nine franchised so far. Conviviality has also launched the first Bargain Booze warehouse in Wakefield, with a second store to open later this year.
