We’ve had a quick catchup with chief executive Peter Pollock. This follows the £36bn plan to develop the UK's railway infrastructure over five years, which has been announced by Network Rail and will include 4,100 new railway carriages and upgrades for a further 1,400 carriages. Stemming from this LPA has won a contract with Hitachi Rail which is building a number of new intercity trains -initially LPA won the contract for LED lighting for 596 Class 800 trains (£5m) and has subsequently won the contract to supply electrical umbilical (£3m).
