At Sharewatch we always keep a close eye on name changes, on new management, on new issues and on revitalised shell companies. One that fits this nicely is EKF Diagnostics (EKF; 24p), which has been born out of the cash shell known as International Brand Licencing. The company is a vehicle for the talents of Julian Baines and David Evans who a year ago took over as chief executive and chairman respectively. Last June, they reversed into it a German diagnostics business and changed the name. Baines and Evans were old hands at BBI, a diagnostics and instrumentation business, which under their stewardship grew from sales of under £1m in 1996 to £35m in 2007 when they sold the business for £85m.
