Iomart - High operational gearing and moves into profit

Iomart (IOM; 44.5p) runs five data centres and is one of those businesses where the management hasn't changed, yet the business has been reinvented within the past two years. Chief executive Angus McSween has successfully withdrawn from the businessâ€™ other interests, which included an ISP and an online business directory, Ufindus. This left just Easyspace, a domain registration and hosting business targeting individual users.It was in 2007 that McSween first signalled his intention to take Iomart into a totally new direction of hosting services. He bought five well invested data centres, with 55,000 sq ft and capacity to host 2,300 server racks for Â£8.6m (one third of the price it might have cost to set them up from scratch). N ...
