There has recently been significant director buying in Powerleague (PWR; 32p), with directors dipping into the market eight times since June and buying a total of 2.2m shares at an average price of 43p. But these purchases pale in significance to the sales in March when the directors sold a 29% stake (accounting for the majority of all their shares at the time) to Patron Capital, an investment fund. The sale was at 97.5p banking £23.1m for the directors. At the time, it was stated that Patron's experience of the property sector should not only give Powerleague further growth opportunities in the UK but also the potential to expand its operations into Europe.
