Haike's record of disappointing investors is unbroken. But then we expected as much in last month's update when we said not to read too much into broker forecasts.This month the company was "pleased" to announce that having opened its refining operations in September it had managed to take advantage of the declining price of crude oil by stockpiling a large quantity of crude oil at around US$80 a barrel. The only problem is that the crude price has tanked in the intervening period so its commitments to purchase have been made at a significantly higher price than the prevailing one whilst selling prices for refined products, which are controlled by the Chinese government, have fallen.
