The world has clearly changed since August with any consumer drivenstock hit by belt tightening. Even Clapham House has reported a salesshortfall at 11 Tootsies restaurants located at shopping and leisurecentres. These restaurants are normally the most profitable within theTootsies estate so any sales shortfall has a disproportionate effect onprofits. In light of this, the opening programme is being slowed downto 18 new units (various formats) this year. Next year's programme isfor 13 units in the UK and 5 in the Middle East/Turkey (all GBK).
