Toy business Character continues to grow like topsy. When we last featured the company as a main recommendation in February this year, the expectation was that earnings per share for the current year to August 2008 would come in at 14p. Now just twelve months later, following a string of profit upgrades, the expectation is that earnings will come in 25% higher than the original forecast at 17.8p. Turnover rose by 42% in 2006 and by another 36% last year and is projected to grow by 10% this year as Character enjoys formidable success with its toys.
