Tarsus - Buys fast growing anti-ageing exhibition

One standout piece of news this month was that tradeshow owner and organiser Tarsus (230p; TRS) finally completed the substantial acquisition of MCII, operator of the leading anti-ageing exhibition in the US. We first tipped Tarsus in Nov '04 and even though the shares have doubled since, the growth has largely come from organic roll out of its labelling and discount exhibitions in the emerging markets and also some small acquisitions in France. As Tarsus' managing director, Douglas Emslie, points out, the acquisition of MCII adds an exciting new leg in medical events if it goes according to plan, and on reasonable assumptions, profits could almost double over the next three years.
