MPAC has reported a strong H1 order book, ahead of H1 21 levels, and an equally encouraging pipeline of prospective business, with resilience in the key healthcare and food & beverages sectors. However, supply chain difficulties affecting key electronic chips and controllers impacted on delivery lead times to customers and combined with inflationary pressures on costs means this year’s performance will be below expectations. MPAC has responded by adding inventory, adapting work in progress, actively establishing alternative sources of components and putting in place a cost savings programme. Shore Cap has reduced its full year sales forecast by 10% to £95m but pretax profit is cut sharply from £8.8m to £3.5m/eps 13.7p. Next year’s fo ...
