Shares in Vislink fell out of bed after Vislink said that the performance of its broadcast hardware business, VCS, for the six months to end June was below expectations. It said broadcasters are experiencing severe pressures on costs because of the movement of advertising expenditure from TV to online formats and are shifting content transmission from traditional microwave and satellite links to IP-based networks. Consequently Vislink is now restructuring its hardware side to focus on Pebble Beach, its IP software business. This will result in a non-cash write-off of between £6-9m of legacy technology.
