The shares are up 62% since we gave them a speculative buy rating in June and with hindsight this month’s news explains why those close to the company (Henderson Global Investors and Richard Griffiths) were buying. Nano has jointly announced with Taipei-listed Wah Hong, a leading manufacturer and supplier of optical films, a supply and licence agreement, under which Nanoco will supply quantum dot resin from its Runcorn plant to Wah Hong, which will process the resin and supply its existing customer base in the display sector. The financial details were not disclosed suffice to say that Nanoco will receive an upfront payment, payment for delivery of quantum dot resin and a royalty on Wah Hong's sales of processed resin.
