Judges has bowed to the 10% appreciation of Sterling against the US$ during the last 12 months and reported that recent order intake has been sluggish. Interims in September will show sales up 43% compared to H1 13 but organic growth was 3.2% and most of the growth is down to a maiden contribution from the Scientifica acquisition. Total order intake (including Scientifica) has been 11% below the level required to meet the budget for the year. WH Ireland has cut its forecast from £8.1m to £7.0m (eps down from 96.6p to 86.4p) with that for next year cut to £7.3m pretax (eps 89.3p).
