In the world of consumer goods companies, Aga Rangemaster (AGA; 90p) is a relative minnow with a market cap. of £64m. The eponymous Aga cooker (which serves a dual purpose of heating the home) is a strong brand, which could make Aga a bid target one day but as past performance shows, the group has been acquisitive.The genesis for the company was Glynwed Engineering of which Aga used to be a non-core part until earlier this decade. Glynwed went on to sell its main business, which was pipe fittings, for £786m in 2001 and handed back half the cash to shareholders.
