CBAY has reported its Q1 09 results, which mark the beginning of quarterly reporting. This is on the back of the transformational deal in 2008 when the young new kid on the block, CBAY, bought its majority (69.5%) stake in Medquist, a much more substantial and longstanding business in the US. The two businesses both provide medical transcription but are very different as Medquist is an onshore provider whereas CBAY has an offshored service delivery from India, which has a lower cost of delivery per line transcribed. Medquist also had sales of US$400m compared to CBAY's US$58m so there is clearly a huge change in the nature and scale of future profits.
