The shares were hammered again after reporting results for the six month period to 31 March, which came in below recently reduced expectations. With nursing home operator Southern Cross also issuing a warning on the same day, it was easy for market makers to take fright. Turnover for the six months went up from Â£9.1m to Â£24.1m with an adjusted operating profit of Â£1.6m, up from Â£0.8m. But goodwill, reorganisation costs, aborted acquisition costs and a higher interest charge of Â£0.6m served to reduce the pretax line to close to breakeven.
