The shares exploded upwards after Spice announced record results.Including the part effect of six acquisitions during the year, turnovergrew by 72% to £229m and pretax profit before goodwill went up 65% to£13.8m with underlying organic growth of 20%. Adjusted eps were up 45%to 22.7p, ahead of forecasts due to a reduced tax charge. Spice operates six divisions, with three of these delivering a rangeof services for the utility sector: electricity (28% of total operatingprofit), water (20%) and telecoms (17%), which are benefiting fromnon-discretionary spend on the networks driven by the regulator.
