East Yorkshire-based pig products firm Cranswick  reported that the Q1 has started well. Total sales (including ?33m from Perkins) have increased by 53% to ?109m. Excluding Perkins, sales increased by 7% to ?68m thanks to better sales of fresh pork, sandwiches and  characuterie, whilst the non core animal feeds/ pet sides were flat to declining. Cranswick has also this month sold its pig farming activity although it will maintain its marketing business. Numis forecasts ?30m pretax and eps of 47.3p for the year. Hold for more.  ...
