Aldermore - Diversity puts the business in good stead

A stronger than anticipated H2 produced a blistering set of full year results with pretax profit up 75% to £99m versus consensus of £95.5m, and the ‘beat’ coming from lower bad debt impairment losses of £10.4m (consensus: £13.6m) and a lower tax rate. Eps rose 73% to 22.6p.Aldermore is a specialist lender, supporting UK SMEs, homeowners and landlords and grew lending across all service lines with 29% growth in lending related to asset finance, 50% growth in SME commercial mortgages, 18% within Buy-to-Let (BTL) and 42% within residential mortgages.
