The shares firmed after Scott Wilson said it expected to meet, if not exceed, current market expectations - in part helped by a better than expected performance from joint ventures. In the UK, the outlook remains choppy and reflects pressure on public sector spend. Meanwhile, the international side (now 35% of sales) has seen continued strong growth in China, India and Eastern Europe and in the power and mining sectors. International contract wins in the last three months were worth Â£30m, with the largest being the recently announced Â£10-15m Saudi Makkah to Medina High Speed Railway, worth Â£10-15m over 3 years.
