One of the benefits of our company visits is that often we glean information not readily available in the company's press releases. Take this month's example of Powerflute (POWR; 69p), the operator of a paper mill in Finland that manufactures the board material used in corrugated boxes.The shares have delivered a rocky ride for shareholders since May, when they made their AIM debut and are down from their 110p float price mainly due to unforeseen continuing increases in the price of wood, primarily silver birch, which is its main raw material and the devaluation of the dollar against the Euro (Powerflute exports a third of its output to the US) catching the company on the back foot.
