Character - Significantly ahead of forecast

The shares rocketed by 15p to a new high of 170p the day Character announced that it would exceed market expectations substantially. Not only has it continued to see strong ongoing demand for its established Doctor Who products range but new products are also seeing strong demand following their successful debut at the January toy fair (such as Dragonfly, Bindees). Following the statement, broker Charles Stanley has increased its forecast by 34% from £8.2m to £11m pretax. The earnings forecast is lifted from 12.7p to 16.7p.
